Join us and help prevent cruelty to animals everywhere!
RSPCA Cumbria West is an independent, separately registered charity from the main RSPCA. We are self funding and raise money locally to support the animal welfare work we do. The friendly faces you see in our shops, our fosterers, everyone who answers emails and phone calls, we're all voluntary and willingly give our time to helping animals.
All money raised by our branch goes towards the cost of rehoming abused, neglected and unwanted pets in our care. All our animals are vet checked, parasite treated, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped as a minimum standard of care. Many animals that come our way need extra care; vet visits, medications, behavioural assessments and interventions.
In the last year alone, we've managed to rehome 118 animals in need, including dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, and a snake!
The cost of funding our vital work is always increasing. You can help us by donating money, donating your unwanted items to our charity shop in Whitehaven, or donating your time by becoming a volunteer. Or, you could always adopt your next family member!

Please help us to help the animals in our care throughout the ongoing Coronavirus crisis!
RSPCA Cumbria West is an independent, separately registered charity from the main RSPCA. We are self funding and raise money locally to support the animal welfare work we do. We are now facing a massive funding shortfall. Like all charities, we had to close our charity shop, cancel vital fundraising events and limit animal adoptions - our main sources of funding.
We still have animals in our care and will continue to help any animals that need us. Our dedicated volunteers are working incredibly hard throughout this period to ensure the animals, and themselves, are safe. We know that as time goes on there will be more animals that need our help and we want to continue to be here to help them.
Donations are at an all time low. We are appealing to our loyal supporters to kindly consider helping us through this crisis by making a donation.
