Who We Are

RSPCA Cumbria West is an independent, separately registered charity  from the main RSPCA. We are self funding and raise money locally to  support the animal welfare work we do. The friendly faces you see in our shops, our fosterers, everyone who answers emails and phone calls, we're all voluntary and willingly give our time to helping animals.

What We Do

All money raised by our branch goes towards the cost of rehoming abused, neglected and unwanted pets in our care. All our animals are vet checked, parasite treated, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped as a minimum standard of care. Many animals that come our way need extra care; vet visits, medications, behavioural assessments and interventions.

What We've Accomplished

In the last year alone, we've managed to rehome 118 animals in need, including dogs, cats, mice, hamsters, rabbits, and a snake!

We Need Your Help

The cost of funding our vital work is always increasing. You can help us by donating money, donating your unwanted items to our charity shop in Whitehaven, or donating your time by becoming a volunteer. Or, you could always adopt your next family member!

CUMBRIA WEST Charity Shop

RSPCA Cumbria West Charity Shops are located in the bustling centre of Whitehaven's Market Place, we have three interesting areas where we display all kinds of treasure, including clothing, shoes and accessories, all sorts of bric-a-brac, books, music, films with toys and games for all ages, and then in our central courtyard there's even more stuff to attract the seasoned bargain hunter.

In fact, our Charity Shops are just an absolute  paradise for all experienced ratchers and all new charity shop initiates alike. Our prices are the most competative, and our items for sale have been selected and lovingly prepared by our hardworking and wonderful volunteers.

We are proud practicioners of the wonderful Cumbrian Art of Knick-Knackery. This is the reclaiming and titivation process that has been lovingly applied to all the unusual and just plain weird stuff in our shops.

We are open every day Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and on Sunday's we are open from 12md to 4pm.

Come and visit us, have a relaxing browse or grab an exciting bargain, or both!
